Lately we've been hearing birds outside. I mean A LOT of birds. Chirping and flapping and making such a racket that at times it sounds like they are right in our living room! But every time we open the door it quiets down and we can't seem to figure out what all the fuss is about.

Today I was working with my flower pots out front and Mike was standing talking to me. Suddenly he stops, mid-sentence, and said, "There are 6 little eyes looking back at me."





The birds built a nest in the wreath on my front door!

I didn't really get a chance to take some good pictures of the kids when they were all dressed up for Easter so today I made them get all dressed up again. I haven't even looked at all the pictures yet but as I previewed some of them on my camera's preview screen I snapped a few quick pics with my phone to give you some idea of what you are in for once I do finally get them all downloaded off my memory card.

He is just starting to reach that age where he thinks he's too cool to laugh at mom's antics.

The Long and Short of it

Just a short post script about the whole lay off thing. Mike is, for now, doing a little contract work....for the company that just laid him off. Contract ends June 2nd so, for now, we have a little time to figure out what to do next.

Cadbury Mini Eggs are my favorite candy! But you can only find them at Easter time. So at this time of year I stock up! I buy a bag (or two) every time I'm at the store until they disappear.

Today is Adam's birthday!!!!

First he got Space Mountain




And there were some pirate Legos. Because what's a birthday without pirate Legos?



And there was miniature golf.



Then Zoey lost a tooth, because she didn't think that Adam should get ALL the attention.



And of course there was cake! No candles. But cake!!!!

Adam and his friend from school had a joint birthday party today. Since they have many of the same friends it just made it easier to have one big party.




So we gathered 12 boys, fed them cake and pizza and then threw them in the swimming pool. Good times.

Still trying to squeeze out every last insurance claim I took Adam to the optometrist today. My favorite part of the optometrist is the jumbo print magazines.



They just humor me. I don't know why. They just do.

Today there was a neighborhood Easter Egg hunt. Unfortunately it was quite warm and all the chocolate eggs melted before the kids found them.

I walked into the bank the other day to deposit a check and the teller informed me that my driver's license was expired. Oops! I seriously had no idea! So we decided it was as good as time as any to finally go get our Arizona Driver's Licences. Which means.....lots of sitting around and waiting. Yea!

Wanting to stay busy this spring break we took a trip today to the Gilbert Historical Museum.



The Museum hosts a live quilting bee year round. Volunteers gather each day to quilt heirloom quilts that have never been finished.



We walked into this room and my kids said "What are those???"

Walked into Zoey's room today and discovered her doll bed broken like this.



I asked her what happened to it. She looked at me sheepishly and said that she and Harrison had been sitting on it. I asked why they were sitting on it. She blushed and said it was because they were playing Bed Knobs and Broomsticks.
